In this regard, I can vivify the lessons by bringing my experience, background and roots in the Arab world to bear on the preparation and delivery of lessons. In this way, students do not learn in a cultural vacuum. I hailed from Egypt and attended Cairo University. My experience includes teaching, lecturing, preparation and running of courses and programs, testing and assessment, organising seminars and suchlike. Moreover, my experience as a presenter/speaker on many television stations as well as satellite channels has enabled me to appreciate as well as tap into the Arab zeitgeist. This has helped me immensely to keep my teaching of Arabic relevant. Furthermore, my teaching and lecturing stints with various Malaysian universities have also helped me to innovate new approaches to teaching Arabic to students from non-Arab background. Besides Arabic, I am proficient in English, too.
