It’s quite common for the kids today to take part in several extracurricular activities like swimming, singing, dancing, drama, dance and athletics. It is not possible for the kids with special needs to take part in an array of activities but certainly, it is better to involve them in a few activities.
Taking part in extracurricular activities is quite crucial for the kids with special needs as that facilitate building self-esteem, friendship, social skills as well as a better sense of belonging. However, these kids often face trouble in taking part in the extracurricular activities. Without doubt, they do not have the flexibility to take part in all the activities like the other kids, but they also face trouble owing to discrimination.
The children with special needs are required to work on several skills and a major part of them are possible to address in home as well as school environment but it is crucial to help them play and interact with other kids. This has a role in helping the kids lead a happy and fulfilling life as adults. Make sure that you choose the right extracurricular activities for your child to be benefitted.
