I have been a college instructor for design, illustration and rendering for 5 years, with english as main medium of instruction, in the philippines. i haven't had much experience tutoring english to learners of the language (because rarely do english need to be tutored in the philippines), except for a handful of thai staff that i have to teach basic conversation english to, as needed for their jobs.

Above all, I value a fun learning environment. My preferred method of teaching is face-to-face, as it is easier to correct mistakes in actual. It is also better if my students learn with buddies [in pairs (2) or in threes (3)are the best number], as it makes students more receptive of the lessons. I always guage my students on the first meeting to know their capacities and be able to customize lessons according to their knowledge. A classroom setup is not a staple setup, because I also like to immerse students in actual situations so that lesson retention becomes more effective.
